The Time Is Coming

“I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts” Isaiah 65:2.

Consider the words, “following their own thoughts”, in relation to Romans 1:21-25 which says, "For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them over..."

Some of the statistics I’ve heard recently regarding the number of professing Christians who either don’t study Scripture or don’t hold to it as the authority of objective truth is astonishing. If our theology of God and His truth is not rooted in Scripture, it’s going to be at the ever changing mercy of the innumerable variables and experiences that have shaped everyone’s life, and God may be no more than a subjective concept of our own imagination. The Geneva Study Bible explains, “He shows that to delight in our own fantasies is the declining from God and the beginning of all superstitions and idolatry.” Our nation, indeed, seems to worship the creature (self) rather than the Creator.

“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not turn back, that to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. They will say of Me, ‘Only in the LORD are righteousness and strength’. And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame. In the LORD all the offspring of Israel will be justified and will glory.” Isaiah 45:22-25

Time is of the essence. The Lord says, “For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory” Isaiah 66:18.
